Mission
Statement
The Gay / Lesbian / Bisexual /Transgender Committee
(GLBT) advocates for and monitors NCSPP's attention to issues relevant to gay,
lesbian,
bisexual,
and transgendered people. The committee began as a spontaneously formed caucus
at the 1994 midwinter meeting in Cancun. The GLBT was established as a standing
committee of NCSPP with representation on the Executive Committee by vote of
the general membership following the 1999 midwinter meeting in Charleston.

GLBT Individual and Program
Awards
NCSPP gives individual as well as Program awards for those that have made
significant contributions to the enhancement of lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and
Transgendered
concerns. The granting of awards is accomplished through the awards sub-committee
of the GLBT committee. Individual awards are made during the Mid-Winter Meeting.
The two awards are rotated by year, with the Program Award given in even-numbered
years, and the Individual award given in odd-numbered years.
